Google Blog: The illuminated continent
Just start Google Earth, enable the National Geographic layers, and begin exploring.
Across Africa, you will see the familiar yellow National Geographic logo. Zoom in to see the title of each feature article or photograph. Click the icon and a pop-up balloon shows a photo and description along with links to the content. Follow those links to read the entire story right where it happened.

赤い飛行機の placemark は、MegaFlyover へのリンクだ。これは生物学者の Mike Fay がアフリカ中を飛行機から撮影しながら行った、アフリカのさまざまな生態系のレポート記事だ。ナショナルジオグラフィックの9月号で特集が組まれている。
アフリカにも一生に一度は行ってみたいなあ。
しかし、こういうダイレクトなタイアップ手法も面白い。まあ National Geographic はちょっと別格だけれども、今後も有力コンテンツが直接タイアップしてくるかもしれないな。
